Louis Vuitton goes back to Brazil for its ‘Spirit of Travel’ campaign. After setting its cruise 2017 runway show in Rio de Janeiro, the luxury fashion house tapped actress Alicia Vikander to appear in the new advertisements. This marks the Danish star’s third campaign for Louis Vuitton. Photographer Patrick Demarchelier captures the scene complete with sand and palm trees. Bags of the season including the ‘Twist’ and ‘Capucines’ take the spotlight. In the accompanying campaign film, Alicia explores the beach while a techno tune plays in the background.

Louis Vuitton’s Petite Malle-Inspired iPhone 7 Case

Even if you missed the initial photos from Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2017 runway show in Paris, you’ve probably seen chatter around the fashion Internet concerning the show’s most buzz-worthy piece: the Louis Vuitton Etui iPhone 7 Case, inspired by the Louis Vuitton Petite Malle Clutch. Solid information has been scarce, but we’ve scoured fashion sites, social media and message boards to find all the details available, including prices, pics and when the already sought-after cases might be available for purchase.

The Petite Malle was one of creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere’s first bag debuts when he took the helm at Louis Vuitton in 2013, and its tiny, trunk-like shape has proved a strong canvas for a variety of leathers, prints and embellishments. For Spring 2017, many of those key details, including the Petite Malle’s trim and lock, have been reimagined in the form of the Etui Case, which will be available for both iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

So far, we know both sizes will be available in several of LV’s printed canvases, as well as crocodile. In the US, the canvas versions are priced at $1,155 for the 7 and $1,230 for the 7 Plus, according to quotes given to one of our PurseForum members by her sales associate at Vuitton. We don’t know US prices for exotics yet, but we’ll update this post when we find out. For the Eurozone market, a Malaysian Louis Vuitton sales associate on Instagram has quoted those prices as €800 and €859 for the 7 and 7 Plus in canvas, while she says crocodile will be approximately €3,500 and €3,800.

We’ve found no specific release dates for the cases yet, and our tPFers have been told several different things by their sales associates at Louis Vuitton; one shopper had heard the Etui will hit stores as early as late November (in time for holiday gifts!), while others have heard it’ll be January at the earliest. Either way, if you think you’ll be wanting on of these cases, it would be wise to contact your local Louis Vuitton boutique and put an order in now–we’ve seen enough chatter to think that these cases will generate a considerable wait list, and based on their prominent position on the runway and their pre-show tease on Nicolas Ghesquiere’s Instagram, Vuitton seems confident that demand will be high when they hit stores.

Even though four figures for an iPhone case was enough to make plenty of Vuitton-obsessed tPFers feel skeptical, the cases are far more detailed than the ones you see similar brands selling in the mid-three figures. Not only do many of the Petite Malle’s finishes make the transition from bag to case, but the Etui cases also come with a clochette to store the wireless earbuds that will now be necessary without the previous iPhones’ audio jack. It looks like the brand went to pains to ensure using the Etui case would be a luxury experience on par with that of its bags, which so far doesn’t really exist on the designer phone case market–designers have long been keen on making mini bags or folios for phones, but none of them have gotten particularly serious about creating luxe hard-shell cases, which are preferred by most consumers on the wider market.

The Louis Vuitton Mira Bag shines like a diamond. This new piece is modern, stylish but you will be surprised by its name after you know what it means. Mira is actually a feminine given name, in the roman languages; this word is related to the Latin words for ‘wonder’ and ‘wonderful’. So please say ‘hi’ to Miss Wonderful.

Besides that, this shoulder bag is a perfect day-to-evening clutch, it boasts a striking envelope design and a sophisticated metallic piece in gold, signed Louis Vuitton Paris. What’s more? It also considered a ‘Versatile Bag’ because it can be carried two ways – either sling over the shoulder with the delicate chain or cross-body thanks to the long leather strap that comes with it.

The Monogram Embossed is a dangerous weapon to flaunt; it’s made from strong and durable calf leather.

Like we’ve said, the Louis Vuitton Mira Bag comes with a removable patent leather strap, this can be used for cross-body or on your shoulder. But it also comes with a golden colored chain strap, this is perfect for short shoulder or hand carry.

The interior is made with a zipped pocket and 6 credit card slots – plenty of space for all your evening-must-takes. As final, the bag opens and closes with a magnetic flap closure.

Measuring 9.4′ x 5.9′ x 2.0′ (L x H x W) inches, priced at $1730 USD, €1280 euro, £1130 GBP, $14300 HKD, $2210 AUD, ¥204120 JPY via Louis Vuitton boutiques or e-store.

Louis Vuitton: 5 Things You Should Know About Les Parfums

Here’s a quick ‘whiff’ of what you should know (and can expect) from Louis Vuitton’s Les Parfums collection that will be available in Singapore come 15 September 2016. Anticipation is high, especially with all the teasing that started months ago. And because I haven’t had the chance to inhale (because it’s a much nicer word than smell, right?) any of the scents, I’ll be keeping this post factual so that come launch date, all of you will be armed with everything else you need to know about this collection. Except how it smells, of course.

Without further ado, here are 5 things you need to know about this collection.

#1 – Contrary to popular belief, this isn’t Louis Vuitton’s first-ever fragrance. Officially, this would be the 4th, with earlier scents launched in 1927, 1928 and 1946. And because LV doesn’t do anything by halves, there won’t be one or three scents; the grand total stands at 7.

#2 – Whilst many other luxury houses work with fragrance companies to create their scents, Louis Vuitton has their very own dedicated ‘nose’, celebrated perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.

#3 – Described as ‘feminine’ in the press release, all 7 scents have flowers as the main note, from Grasse’s famed centifolia roses to sambac jasmine from China. There are also tuberoses, white narcissus and Tahitensis vanilla in other scents. Some are also infused with leather (the Dans La Peau) for what I’m hoping might make it suitable for us boys as well.

#4 – Prices start from SGD370 for a 100 ml bottle to SGD540 for the 200 ml size. You could also opt for all 7 miniatures that will come priced at SGD370. Not exactly affordable by most standards, but Monsieur Belletrud insists on the purest, rarest and hence priciest ingredients in the fragrance market for Les Parfums. In other words, you should head down on 15 September 2016 to either LV Marina Bay Sands or Ngee Ann City and let your nose decide if they are worth every scent cent.

#5 – Last but by no means least, that trunk. Yes, that drool-worthy, heart-moving, specially-customised trunk. Made to house 3 of your favourite scents, that drawer you see on the bottom of the trunk is (and I think) where you’ll be resting your credit card because this beauty of a box will set you back by SGD7450.

Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette Accessoires Trunks and Locks

You know when you’re invited to a birthday party and you know that your friend is addicted to designer brands. And I can totally understand the frustration of hunting for a present that needs to be correctly balanced between the price and value. It’s even harder if she has bought you an expensive gift for ‘your birthday’ last your and you need to return the favor.
But you can’t buy a Chanel Classic Flap Bag, I mean, that will make her very happy that’s for sure, but then you need to cut a big hole in your own budget. Then you don’t want to bring a key ring or something to her party. But what about the Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette Accessories Trunks & Locks?
First thing first, The Mini Pochette is not just a collection, as we’ve covered some time ago, the Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette is an iconic itself. It was originally made for the bucket bags, but somehow it has chosen to walk its own path. You can read more details about the original version at Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette Accessories.
You see, the Trunks and & Locks edition is from the newest Fall Winter 2014 Collection. The design is made by Nicolas Ghesquière, inspired by the Trunk Luggage, a historical and classic bag from Louis Vuitton. If you’ve followed us so far, you must have heard a lot about the ‘Trunks’ design, which is the big thing for the F/W 2014 release, you remember the Petite Malle Bag?
A charming graphic design on its Damier Ebene Canvas, that adds to its stylishness – the graphic is embellished in the front, making it look like a lock. The Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette Accessories Trunks & Locks comes with a short golden chain. Though it has a small space, but its perfect to hold your essentials. Measuring 5.5’ x 3.5’ x 0.4’ (W x H x D) inches, crafted from grained calf leather, for $370 USD, €250 euro’s and £210 at Louis Vuitton e-store or boutique.

Louis Vuitton America’s Cup Collection

Why hello here, it’s whale-y nice to meet you.

Row, row row your boat, gently down the sea…

V for Victory. V for Vuitton. V for Very Nice.

Consider this a teaser of things to come. Yes folks, these pieces are from Louis Vuitton’s upcoming America’s Cup collection, which will be launched in Singapore come April 2016. The capsule collection isn’t a small one either, the bags, SLGs and accessories alone number somewhere around 24 in all, including what you see above, the Regatta Whale Lock, the Waterline Boat Key Holder and the Damier Cobalt Regatta Slender Wallet.

And then’s there’s the RTW, shoes (lots of different styles available) and other bits and bobs like belts and scarves, which I’ll update accordingly in the weeks to come with priced in SGD, of course. Stay tuned!
